QUECHUA EXPLORER Get a quote

Our story

Guides first. Tour operator second.

Quechua Explorer started in 2012 with three Cusqueño guides who were tired of watching foreign-owned agencies sell the Sacred Valley without paying local families a fair share. We built the opposite: an agency rooted in the communities we walk through, from the Choquequirao trail to the Apurímac Canyon.

Today we run trekking, river rafting, day tours and corporate travel across southern Peru — still guided, cooked and muled by people who call these valleys home.

What guides every itinerary

Authenticity over spectacle

We'd rather show you a working weaving cooperative than a staged photo-op.

Fair pay, always

Porters, cooks and muleteers are paid above the regional trekking-association minimum.

Leave no trace

All waste is packed out of Choquequirao and the Apurímac canyon — no exceptions.
